Google Maps Integration
Visualize mileage. Optimize routes.
FTM’s Google Maps integration helps you see pickup and delivery locations and calculate mileage automatically—directly within your Load records. It enhances load planning by providing distance-based insights for rate negotiation and ETA tracking.
Benefits of the Integration
- Auto-calculates distance between Pickup and Delivery addresses
- Uses Google Distance Matrix and Maps API
- Displays the route map in the Load object
- Enhances transparency in rate quotes and transit planning

Displaying the Map in the Load Object
The map view is embedded on the Load object layout.

- Distance is auto-calculated using the Google Distance Matrix API
- Update triggers when addresses are changed

Testing and Troubleshooting
- If the map doesn’t load, check if:
- API key is active and correct
- APIs are enabled
- Billing is configured in Google Cloud
- If distance doesn’t show, confirm that:
- Both Pickup and Delivery addresses are filled
- API key is unrestricted or domain-restricted correctly
Final Notes
- API keys may expire or be rotated
- Google usage is billable; monitor API usage in Google Console
- Always test in sandbox before applying to production
