LTL Rating

TForce Freight Rates, Accessible in Salesforce

FTM can call the TForce Freight Rating API to retrieve LTL rate quotes for a configured shipment, comparing available service options, estimated charges, and transit time before a BOL is created. Rates are returned based on freight class, weight, origin-destination pair, and applicable accessorials.

  • NMFC freight class and weight-based rate lookup
  • Accessorial charges: liftgate, residential, inside delivery, and others as supported
  • Estimated transit days returned alongside the rate
  • Account-based contract rates where enabled on the TForce account

Shipment Creation & Electronic BOL

One Step from Salesforce Load to TForce eBOL

The TForce Ship API accepts shipment details, shipper, consignee, freight class, commodity, pallet count, and pickup request, and returns a TForce electronic Bill of Lading. FTM can submit that request directly from the Salesforce Load record.

  • Electronic Bill of Lading (eBOL)
The TForce Ship API generates a BOL for the shipment, a freight document that accompanies the load, distinct from a parcel shipping label. The BOL includes shipper, consignee, commodity description, freight class, and pieces.
  • PRO Number Returned
TForce assigns a PRO number to the shipment upon BOL creation, FTM can store this on the Salesforce Load for use in tracking and document retrieval.
  • Pickup Integrated in the Ship API
The TForce Ship API covers rate confirmation, eBOL generation, and pickup scheduling in a single API call, so shipment creation and pickup booking can happen together when configured.

Freight Documents

BOLs, Delivery Receipts, and Weight Certs: Connected to Salesforce

The TForce Documents API retrieves shipment documents by PRO number. FTM can request these documents and associate them with the Salesforce Load record, giving your team access to freight paperwork without visiting TForce’s website or calling customer service.

  • Bill of Lading (BOL): the primary freight contract document generated at shipment creation
  • Delivery Receipt: confirmation of delivery, signed by the consignee at the destination
  • Weight & Inspection Certificate: issued when TForce re-weighs or inspects a shipment in transit

Document availability depends on shipment status. Delivery receipts and inspection certificates are only available after the relevant carrier event has occurred.

Business Benefits

What Changes When LTL Freight Connects to Salesforce

Less Duplicate Entry

Shipper, consignee, and freight details already stored in Salesforce are reused to populate TForce shipment requests, reducing manual re-keying between systems.

Shipment Visibility

TForce tracking events and PRO status appear on the Salesforce Load record alongside the rest of the freight operation, without logging into TForce’s website separately.

Faster Document Access

BOLs, delivery receipts, and available freight documents are retrievable from Salesforce using the PRO number, so your team doesn’t need to track down paperwork from TForce portals.

Connected LTL Operations

TForce Freight sits alongside other carriers in FTM, so your team can manage multi-carrier LTL operations, compare rates, and track freight from a single Salesforce environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About the FTM + TForce Freight Integration

You need an active TForce Freight shipping account and API credentials obtained through the TForce Freight Developer Portal (developer.tforcefreight.com). TForce uses OAuth authentication for API access. To begin an integration, TForce requires you to register on the developer portal and contact their Solutions Development team at [email protected]. Access to specific features such as account-based contract rates may depend on your TForce account tier and agreement.
TForce LTL rates are based primarily on freight class (NMFC classification), weight, and origin-destination lane. Freight class, ranging from Class 50 to Class 500, is determined by the commodity’s density, storability, handling difficulty, and liability. The class must be set correctly on the Salesforce Load or commodity record before the rating API is called. An incorrect freight class can result in a rate discrepancy or a weight and inspection certificate being issued by TForce in transit.
A Bill of Lading (BOL) is the freight contract document created at shipment origination, it describes what was shipped, from whom, to whom, and under what terms. It is not a parcel shipping label. A Delivery Receipt is the document signed by the consignee (or their representative) at the destination when the freight is delivered. A Proof of Delivery (POD) typically refers to the delivery receipt image returned by the carrier API after delivery is confirmed. These are distinct documents; FTM retrieves whichever documents TForce makes available for a given PRO number through the Documents API.
When FTM creates a TForce shipment, the PRO number returned is stored on the Salesforce Load record. FTM can then call the TForce Tracking API using that PRO number to retrieve transit events, terminal scans, in-transit status, and delivery confirmation, and surface them on the Load. The frequency and method of tracking updates depend on how FTM is configured for your deployment. Tracking data is sourced from TForce’s network and reflects their scan events, not real-time GPS positioning.
TForce Freight was formerly known as UPS Freight. UPS sold its LTL freight business in April 2021, and it now operates independently as TForce Freight under TFI International. TForce Freight is a separate company from UPS; it is not part of UPS parcel shipping, and the two use different carrier accounts, APIs, and service networks. FTM’s TForce Freight integration uses the current TForce developer portal at developer.tforcefreight.com, not the legacy UPS Developer Kit or UPS APIs.
As of October 2026, TForce Freight lists invoicing, claims submission, and billing discrepancy APIs on their developer portal as “coming soon.” These capabilities are not yet available through the TForce API. The TForce APIs that are currently documented, rating, shipment creation and BOL generation, pickup scheduling, PRO tracking, and document retrieval, can be connected through an FTM implementation, subject to confirmation of the actual integration scope for your deployment. Invoice and claims functionality may become available as TForce’s API platform expands.
