Rate Quote REST API

Customer-Specific Saia LTL Rates and Transit Times, Returned to the FTM Lane Quote in Salesforce.

Saia’s Rate Quote REST API returns customer-specific LTL rate estimates using your Saia Secure account credentials. Rates reflect origin, destination, weight, freight class, and any applicable accessorials. Transit time is returned alongside the rate. FTM can integrate rate retrieval so Saia pricing is available from the Lane Quote in Salesforce without navigating to saia.com separately.

Rate quotes with or without Saia Secure credentials
Saia’s Rate Quote API can return LTL rate estimates without a Saia Secure account. Where customer credentials are configured, the API returns account-specific negotiated pricing. Rates are estimates at time of request, not guaranteed pricing.

eBOL + Pickup

Electronic BOL Creation and Shipping Labels – Available via Saia’s eBOL API.

Saia’s eBOL REST API creates the Bill of Lading, generates the PDF document, and produces pallet and package labels. FTM can integrate BOL creation so the BOL and labels are generated from the FTM shipment record rather than through saia.com separately.

eBOL REST API
Available

Saia documents an eBOL REST API for electronic Bill of Lading creation. FTM can integrate BOL creation from the shipment record, generating the BOL document and shipping labels without navigating to saia.com separately.

Tracking + Document Retrieval

Saia Shipment Status and Proof of Delivery – Available on the FTM Transportation Record.

Saia’s Customer Tracking REST API returns shipment status updates. The Image REST API retrieves shipment documents including the POD and delivery receipts. FTM can integrate both so Saia carrier status and documents are accessible from the Salesforce record without a separate saia.com login.

Customer Tracking REST API
Available

Saia’s Customer Tracking REST API returns shipment status after dispatch. Authentication uses the Saia Secure account credentials. FTM can integrate tracking to surface Saia shipment status on the FTM transportation record in Salesforce.

Shipment status updates after carrier pickup
Saia Secure account authentication required for customer-specific tracking
Available for integration based on Saia Tracking API subscription
Image REST API (Document Retrieval)
Available

Saia documents an Image REST API for shipment document retrieval, including proof of delivery and BOL images. FTM can integrate document retrieval to surface Saia shipping documents on the FTM record without navigating to saia.com.

Retrieve POD, BOL, and shipment document images
Documents linked to the FTM transportation record
Available for integration based on Image API subscription and account access
Each Saia API requires a separate subscription and API key
Saia’s Rate Quote, Customer Tracking, eBOL, and Image REST APIs are each subscribed to independently at Saia’s developer portal. A Saia Secure account is also required for authentication on the Rate Quote and Tracking APIs. FTM can be configured for any combination of these based on which APIs your account has subscribed to.
Two systems, one workflow

Saia Manages the LTL Network. FTM Manages the Transportation Record in Salesforce.

Saia provides the LTL infrastructure – rates, BOL, pickup, tracking, and documents. FTM provides the Salesforce-native layer where carrier data connects to the transportation record driving quoting, dispatch, and operations.

Why Saia in FTM

Saia Documents REST APIs for Rate Quoting, eBOL, Tracking, and Document Retrieval. FTM Can Connect Each to the Salesforce Transportation Record.

Saia documents REST APIs for rate quoting, eBOL creation, shipment tracking, and image/document retrieval – each independently subscribable from Saia’s developer portal. FTM can integrate any combination so Saia carrier data flows onto the Salesforce transportation record based on your account setup.

Independently subscribable APIs across the lifecycle
Saia’s Rate Quote, Customer Tracking, eBOL, and Image/Document APIs are each available from Saia’s developer portal with independent subscriptions. FTM can integrate any combination based on which APIs are active for your account, without requiring all to be enabled.
Customer-specific pricing via Saia Secure
The Rate Quote API returns negotiated account pricing using Saia Secure authentication – not generic published tariff rates. This means rates returned on the FTM Lane Quote reflect the actual pricing your Saia account has been set up with, alongside your regular accessorial profile.
Rate to document in one connected workflow
When all four APIs are configured, the FTM record can span rate quoting, BOL creation and labels, pickup scheduling, shipment tracking, and proof-of-delivery retrieval – without the operations team leaving Salesforce to access saia.com at each step.
Before and after

What Changes When Saia is Connected to FTM in Salesforce

Without FTM integration, Saia data lives in saia.com – rate lookups, BOL creation, tracking, and POD retrieval each requiring a separate portal session. With FTM, those steps connect to the Salesforce record where the rest of the workflow lives.

Without Saia connected to FTM
Log into saia.com to get a rate quote for each shipment
Re-enter origin, destination, class, and weight to get the rate
Create the BOL and print labels from saia.com separately
Log into saia.com again to check shipment status during transit
Download POD from saia.com and attach to Salesforce record manually
With Saia capabilities integrated into FTM
Saia rate and transit time returned to the Lane Quote in Salesforce
Shipment details on the Lane Quote sent to Saia without re-entry
BOL created and labels generated from the FTM shipment record
Saia shipment status surfaced on the FTM record during transit
POD and shipment documents linked to the FTM record via Image API
Outcomes

What Connecting Saia to FTM Makes Possible

Saia rates on the Lane Quote without leaving Salesforce
Customer-specific Saia LTL rate estimates are returned to the FTM Lane Quote when Rate Quote API integration is configured, with accessorials included – no separate saia.com login required to get a rate.
Transit time alongside the rate at quote time
Saia’s Rate Quote API returns transit time alongside the rate estimate. When FTM retrieves a Saia rate, your team sees transit days on the Lane Quote for the same carrier request, without a separate transit time lookup.
BOL and labels from the FTM shipment record
When eBOL integration is configured, the Saia Bill of Lading and shipping labels are generated from the FTM shipment record, keeping the BOL step connected to the Salesforce workflow instead of handled separately in saia.com.
Shipment status on the Salesforce record during transit
When Customer Tracking API integration is enabled, Saia shipment status is available on the FTM transportation record, reducing the need for manual status checks against saia.com while a shipment is in transit.
POD and documents linked to the FTM record
When Image API integration is configured, Saia proof of delivery and shipment documents are retrievable from the FTM record – available to the team handling the shipment in Salesforce without a separate saia.com download step.
Configure only the APIs your operation needs
Saia’s four APIs are independently subscribable – FTM can be configured for Rate Quote only, or any combination through the full lifecycle, based on which APIs are active for your account and what your team needs in Salesforce.
