EFW Forwarding Rates, Shipment Tracking, and Electronic Connectivity – Available for Integration with FTM in Salesforce.
Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) is a non-asset freight forwarder and a separate integration from Estes Express Lines. Meanwhile, EFW’s open API and EDI connectivity support rate quoting across service levels, electronic booking, and shipment tracking – each available for integration with FTM so EFW forwarding workflows can connect to the Salesforce transportation record.
EFW Forwarding Options, Rates, and Shipment Status – Available for Integration with FTM Inside Salesforce.
EFW documents open API connectivity and EDI integration for TMS platforms. Consequently, FTM can integrate EFW rate quoting, electronic booking, and shipment tracking so EFW forwarding options are evaluated and managed from the FTM transportation record.
All values are illustrative. Moreover, actual rates, service levels, and transit times are returned by EFW at time of request and reflect your account configuration. Because rates are not guaranteed, a new request may be needed to confirm current pricing before tendering.
What EFW Documents. What FTM Can Integrate.
EFW publicly documents open API connectivity and EDI integration for TMS platforms. Therefore, the capabilities below are based on EFW’s own documentation of their technology integration offerings. Afterward, contact the FTM team to discuss which apply to your EFW account and required integration scope.
EFW built and documented an open rate API – described as offering “seamless connectivity and configurability with most TMS platforms.” FTM can integrate this to retrieve EFW forwarding rates across designated service levels, transit times, and freight classes from the Lane Quote in Salesforce.
EFW explicitly documents a tracking API for TMS integration, stating that shipments are “easily tracked in the TMS via EFW’s tracking API.” EFW also provides 24-hour track-and-trace and proactive in-transit tracking emails. FTM can integrate EFW shipment tracking to surface status on the FTM transportation record.
EFW documents electronic booking alongside their rate API – referenced as part of the “Get It There Faster” TMS integration. FTM can integrate electronic booking capabilities where EFW provides a booking interface for the customer account, allowing shipments to be tendered to EFW from the FTM record.
EFW documents EDI/API connectivity across their services including domestic, international, and warehousing. FTM can be configured for EDI data exchange with EFW for customers whose accounts include EDI capability.
EFW provides the MyEFW client portal for customer access to scheduling, reporting, and shipment management. Customers can track shipments online and receive in-transit proactive tracking emails. These portal capabilities are available to EFW account holders directly.
FTM integration brings EFW rate and tracking data into Salesforce so that the FTM transportation record reflects EFW carrier data – reducing the need to log into MyEFW separately for status lookups or rate comparisons during quoting.
EFW Manages the Forwarding Network. FTM Manages the Transportation Record in Salesforce.
EFW provides the forwarding logistics – rate options, carrier selection, shipment execution, and tracking. Meanwhile, FTM provides the Salesforce-native transportation management layer where quoting, dispatch, and carrier data connect to the record where operations happen.
EFW Covers Service Modes No Single LTL Carrier Can. FTM Brings Their Rate and Tracking Data into Salesforce.
EFW’s forwarding network – backed by Estes Express’s linehaul assets – covers expedited air and ground, truckload, international, and specialized logistics. Consequently, FTM can integrate EFW carrier data so EFW is part of the carrier evaluation inside Salesforce, not managed in a separate portal.
What Changes When EFW Capabilities Are Integrated into FTM
Without FTM integration, EFW is a separate portal relationship – logged into separately for rates, booking, and tracking. With FTM, however, EFW carrier data can flow onto the Salesforce record where the rest of the transportation workflow lives.
